twine extra

I'm new to using twine. What's your opinion about this product for cold blood horse fencing in the midwest (snow, wind and ice common in winter)? Is retentioning commonly required if solid end and corner posts are used. I know rope would be a better choice but budgets are getting tight so I'd like to know if this product is feasible in your opinion for these conditions. Thanks for your insight.

If you think that you will be using this fence for more than five years then the
rope is the least cost product. It will be better for the horse and will require less
work throughout the year.
