charging battery while connected to Intellishock 20B

I have the Intellishock 20B with a solar panel, but many days of rain and weed load are wearing the battery down. Can I unhook the solar panel and replace it with a 1.5 Amp trickle charger and then continue to operate the energizer, or must the battery be disconnected before recharging?

Matt,
You can use the trickle charger to completely charge the battery. The solar panel would be more likely to keep up then. You need to disconnect the battery from the trickle charger before hooking back to the energizer.
