Hi,
We're installing a perimeter fence on new pasture. We currently have sheep, but might add cattle at some point in the future.
We'd like to use local suppliers, especially for heavy items like the woven wire. What is the comparison between high tensile and "regular" tensile woven wire, and how can you tell the difference? If I go to the local farm supply store, will they have HT woven wire? Should we use 14.5 or 12.5 gauge wire?
Are HT and "regular" woven wire installed differently?
When one roll ends and another begins, what are the options for joining the fence?
How tight or loose should the wire staples be?
How much will we be able to jog the fence around existing trees on the property line?
Is there a good book or other resource (besides here) with details like these?
Our property is mostly flat, with some gradual slope, and a variety of soil types.
