Premier 4000 clippers

Hi,

I recently bought the Premier 4000 clippers to shear my alpacas and I am having a hard time getting through the fiber. I have the coarse blades but have read that they need to be cut a certain way in order for them to go through the fiber. Is this true, as I bought 3 sets of blades and they just don't work.

Is the tension that hard to adjust?

I did alot of research and thought these would be the best for starting out and figured that once I got enough experience I could easily switch to the shearer head. But right now I am not happy with their performance as I ended up using my dog clippers on the cria with a 7 tooth comb and it worked fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hello,

Alpacas can be difficulty to clip even under the best of conditions. Clippers by far are easier to tension than shearing machines and safer to use. Alpacas should be clean and as free of sand and dirt as possible as those items dull clipper blades very quickly. The blades should be oiled every 2-3 minutes for maximum benefit. If you have questions regarding the tensioning, please refer to the user's manual or you can call us to discuss. Hope this helps. Thanks
