No charge in fence

I have an intellishock 300, & intellirope fence. The fence is not grounding anywhere - not touching anything. The charger light is on, but there's no charge where it meets the fence. Do I need a new charger? We're having a drought here - I'm sure the ground pole is dry - will that affect anything?

I suggest testing the energizer alone first.
To do this:
1. Turn off the energizer
2. Take the wires going to the fence and ground rod off the energizer
3. Turn on the energizer
4. Take a fence tester and test across the two terminals.
To do this: Place the ground probe(from the tester) on the ground terminal and the fence probe(from the tester) on the fence terminal on the energizer.
5. If you get a good reading of 5000 volts or more. Then your energizer is good.
6. If you reading is low call us at 800-282-6631

Then Test your ground rod ( a digital fence tester works best for this)

1. Have your fence and energizer working like normal
2. Take the fence tester and put the ground probe in the soil
3. Touch the fence tester to the ground rod
4. If your reading is below 300 volts then you are good on the ground rod If it is higher then 300 volts then you need more ground. (This is usually the problem with dry areas.)

This should narrow down were the problem is.
