4000c Tensioner Frustration

10 minutes out of the box and I'm already frustrated. I have always had Osters but this time I decided to try Premier 1 clippers. I put on the blades, which i think I did right but there aren't really any photos that I can find that show me how. I did it the only way it made sense. I hand tightened the tensioner and when i went to turn it backward, it wouldn't. It will tighten more but it appears the spring is stuck so it won't un-tighten. I'm about to get out the pliers and try to un-tighten it but it really doesn't seem likly that will work. If it doesn't work I'm going to beat the machine against the floor until the knob loosens. Any other solution to this?

It has come to our attention that on some of our clipper heads, the spring of the tension knob assembly is catching on the tension knob. We are now sending out heads with a washer installed in the tension knob to prevent the spring from "gripping" the knob. We have used pliers to remove knobs that have seized up. Contact us and we will send you a washer to insert into the tension knob. There is also a way to do this without adding a washer, please call Premier 1-800-282-6631 and ask for Stephanie or Gordon.
