Gettings ready to fence about 50 acres and wanted to get some opinion from sheep producers on which system might be better for perimeter fencing. Currently only cattle on site, but want flexibility for grazing sheep at this site in the future.
1. hi tensile woven wire 48" high with 1 hot offset at 30". biggest concern here is keeping the fence clean. is it ok to consider spacings large enough for small headed sheep to get through the fence to clean up the outside? we have katahdin dorper commercial flock and feel that this might work. we will be able to bush hog the outside of the fence.
or
2. 5-strand all hot hi tensile wire for perimeter. as with all electric fencing, power can go out. less 'solid' a fence for keeping animals out / in than woven wire.
happy new year, noah
