Fence Shap

I want to put my electric fence up around the chicken coop - does the fence need to connect so that both ends are touching or could I create the fence so that the two ends connected to opposite ends of building and did not touch?

The electric netting works best if it has a dead end. Therefore, do not connect the two ends. You can start on one side of a building and end on the other side. Just have the post 2-3 inches away from the building. Make sure to test your fence for a reading of 3000 volts or more.
