How to fence two areas off one charger

Hi There,
We'll be raising a small batch of four young goats and a batch of 4 small-breed pigs. We'll be using electric fencing for the first time. We'd like to get the PRS 50 Solar Energizer, and use it with both the PoultryNet 12/48/3 (48" x 164', double spike posts) for the goats (we'll use this fence next year for chickens) and with the pigs. We'd like to have the pigs fenced in old fashion hog panels, but with a scare wire on the inside/top of the hog panels. FIrst, is it possible (and how) to run the goat fence and the pig scare wire off the PRS 50 at the same time, and how. The second question is we will be using the goat fence as a complete circle (the ends of the fence will meet each other), I hear this is not recommended. We won't be using housing that can close the loop, what do you recommend?

Thank you so much!

Hi Vanessa,

Thank you for contacting Premier 1 Supplies! Yes, you can run both the PoultryNet and the guard strand for the pigs off of the same energizer. You simply need to connect the metal clip on the netting (which is not connected to the energizer) to the guard strand using our insulated cable! You can see the cable and follow directions by clicking this link: http://www.premier1supplies.com/detail.php?prod_id=417&criteria=insulated+cable You can also view a GREAT video under our "How-To Videos."

To answer your second question, you can definitely put the fence in a circle but it is best to not connect the two metal pieces together. This will allow you to add more netting in the future. The netting can be shaped into any formation you need it be ie. straight line, circular, square, etc. I hope this helps answer your questions!
Let us know if we can help any further!
