USING ROPE

What distance can rope be hand-pulled to provide enough tension. I'm preparing to put up 6,000 to 7,000 ft 3-strand for cattle in rough county with lots of bends. I've had some visibility issues with wire in the past and I like the visibility of the rope but am concerned about the tension. (I'm used to using tension reels on wire).

The rope come in 1320 feet or 660. The most I would splice together is 2-3 rolls(1320 foot) it would be hard to keep a tension on the rope other wise. Make sure to use the P-Springs at each end and the rope links to splice. If you have to cut the rope make sure to burn the end so they do not unravel. Always test the fence for a reading of 3000 volts or more.
