false labor in my ewe

Author: Leona Christensen  Date:   03-02-14 12:37 One of our ewes is four years old and this is her third pregnancy. last evening she started exhibiting signs of lambing. up and down and looked like some severe contractions. No sign of any water sac or any other discharges. Finally gloved up and checked her. Was not dilated at all. appetite is good. Could she be having a false labor. Have had sheep for a number of years and have never experienced this problem.

Author: Gordon  Date:   03-03-14 13:39 Because we do not have a vet on staff I can not tell you what it could be or how to treat it. You will need a vet for this. If you do not want to work with a vet then keep a close eye on her and take her temp. often. If it gets high or she goes off of feed then she may be in trouble.
