ewes eating marking crayon

I recently purchased a breeding harness.When I put it on the ram the ewes eat all the crayon. Are they lacking something? How do I keep them from eating it?

Please tell me what you are feeding your ewes now. And what type of mineral you are using.

I am raising Texas dall sheep.I am mixing 200 lbs of corn,100 sheep balancer{land o lakes},100 oats ,20 lbs molasass.free choice salt.alfalfa-timothy hay

They only get .5 lbs each .Any suggestions.I am very new to this.
