Abscess

I recently got a Romanov ram, and noticed a lump on his leg. It is just below the knee, on his right front leg. It is about as big around as a quarter, at the base, but doesn't stick up very high. When you feel it, it moves under your fingers. Any Idea what could cause an abscess like that? And what should I do about it? It doesn't seem to bother him, but I am concerned non the less.

It's hard to say what caused this but if it is soft you can lance it and drain it. You should watch it and make sure that the flies do not bother him.
