Deer fencing

We're trying to keep deer out of our garden area (approx. 50' by 50'). I'm planning on using 8' cedar posts (from the woods on our lot) and using Intellirope, but having done much planning beyond that. Do I need only one strand at about 47" or
three. How do I manage a gated area (we were initially thinking or a bypass area, but I don't know how this would work)? I was also thinking of using a solar system since I didn't want to just have the extension cord laying on the ground, but your website tends to discourage tha. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great? I look forward to your feedback. Thanks.

If you are doing strictly a deer fence a common 2D system (single fence) as opposed to a 3D system (two fences) 2 -5 strands are commonly used. A 4 strand system (strands every 12" +/-) makes a fence approximately 48"-52" tall. The more strands used the more visible the system. Because of the small area a 4 strand system 48" tall should do very well. An IntelliShock 20B solar unit (Part #117313) should effectively charge a system. Maintaining the weed load under the fence will also help maintain a effective charge a 200' system. Gate are normally built to mimic the fence. Install gate posts desired distance apart having fence start at one gate post and ending at other. Using safehandles and activators run 4 strands with handles making gate look like rest of fence system.

Hope this simplifies the systems

Thanks
