Matted Material Around Eyes of Lambs

I have about 40 lambs in my flock, and recently many of them have matted material around their eyes. Some of the ewes have this also, but it is most prevalent in the lambs. What is it? How can I treat it? Thanks.

There could be many different things causing this problem and with out seeing
the sheep I would only be guessing. I think you should contact your vet.
