Hi
I'm a loyal and happy customer of premier, but right now, I am a desperate owner of 3 sheep in a small flock of 20 plus. My problems with them started over a year ago, and I guess I am emailing this question in desperation, since you folks probably know more about sheep than anyone I know! several of my adult ewes starting having chronic diarrhea about a year ago. We tested them for parasites and altho the tests were negative we wormed with Dectomax (I had been worming regularly with Dectomax), then later ivomec sheep drench, then also chorid and the Sulfadimethoxine Solution that you sell, for possible coccidia. nothing helped, or only seemed to help for a few days. we tested for salmonella. negative. I asked about possible diseases and my vet is completely stumped. I saw the post on clover, which we have in our pasture, but they have diarrhea in winter when they are only eating hay, usually a timothy mix. it's the same sheep with the problem all the time, all my other sheep are fine, fat, healthy. They don't act sick, they eat well and seem fine otherwise. I have worked on them so much they are like pets to me now. but in the heat and humidity of virginia they are gross with dirty behinds and I worry about the flies. And they are kind of scrawny considering the length of their problem, compared to my other sheep. These are Katahdin crosses mostly. I looked at the treatments for scours in your catalog and wondered if any of them were worth a try. Or maybe even something else. thanks for any help.
