Border Cheviots and Fencing
Author: Maria

Hello,
I have a small mixed aged flock of Border Cheviot show sheep . My family and I recently moved to a new house with more land. Naturally, I need to fence this in but I am concerned about my cheviots jumping the fence. What type of fencing should I use to keep my sheep in but will be durable enough to withstand the contours of the field?
Thank you very much

Temporary/Movable systems such as ElectroStop II typically work very well for containment as well as predator deterrences as long as the sheep are trained to electric and the fence is properly electrified. For permanent systems we prefer the HT woven wire with electrified wires above and in front. These systems can be built to desired height by adding additional smooth wire strands above the woven wire to obtain desired height of fence. As with the portable netting systems having the systems properly electrified will add to the effectiveness and the durability of all systems

Thanks
Scott
