Last spring I vaccinated my 80 lambs with the clostridial C & D. A very large percent developed a lump, about the size of a marble around the injection site. I injected in the neck, just under the skin, pulling the skin up like a 'tent'. I talked to a fellow sheep person, and they had the same problem but they injected just behind the front leg instead of the neck. The vet told them it was the vaccine itself causing the lump. Mine were sold for slaughter (after proper time allowed from the vaccine), but I just don't like the look of that lump. Is there anything I can do about it? Or is that 'normal' for this vaccination? Should I try a different 'brand'?
