We have just 20 Icelandic sheeps with long wool. I don't want cut the wool too close to the skin to protect them from the sunburn and I don't need a big machine .The weight is important for me. What is the best for me?
Thank you!

I think you would be happy with the Premier 1000c and the Merlin 13 blades. They are our the lightest of our clippers and the Merlin will leave a bit of wool on them. You will want to either have several sets of blades and/or plan on doing several and then having the blades sharpened inbetween.

Janet,
What is the difference between 800C et 1000C?
Do you think in mated wool the 1000c will do the work?
Thank's

The 800c is smaller and lighter weight than the 1000c, so it is more comfortable to use. I'm not comfortable recommending it for 20 Icelandics though - their double coat with the fine under coat will present more of a challenge than an open, coarse fleece.

For matted fleeces (or cutting in the rise) you will certainly do better with the 1000c and the Merlin 13 blades.

Thank you very much Janet ,
I have and other question, why the people use the shearing machine and not always the clipper if the clipper is good on the wool ,less weight and more confortable. I used a big shearing machine last summer and it was terrible, the sound, the weigth, the speed!!!!!. Of course the clipper looks better for me but you sure it will made the job and let wool (1cm)on the skin?
If I order the 1000c and blade could you tell me the price (Canadian) and the time for the delivery? (Sorry for my bad engllish)
Thank you
Claire

The shearing machine is more powerful and therefore faster - important if you are doing a lot of animals at a time. Because you only have a few sheep I don't feel its necessary in your situation.

If you purchase the Premier 1000c as a package it includes the case, 4 oz oil, and a pair of fine blades for $218; you can upgrade to the Merlin blade for an additional $5. Shipping will be approximately $15; depending on method. All prices are quoted as US dollars. Delivery time would depend on method and where in Canada you are - east coast would be 3-5 days; west coast 7-10.

If you give us a call so we can put in an order we can be much more specific with shipping costs and time without any committment from you.
