Electric fencing for rattlesnakes?

I've moved to an area of the country where rattlesnakes seem to be pretty abundant and after finding a western diamondback on my porch and my dog being bitten in the first two weeks of living here, I'm wondering what I can do to keep the snakes out of my property.

I still have my flexible electric poultry fence (no more poultry) and have been wondering if it would work for this purpose if it's erected kind of loosely. However, I don't know if a snake would be deterred by an electric shock.

My property is on a rocky hillside and setting posts in the ground is difficult in some spots, but there is an old barbed wire fence along the highest, rockiest line of the property. I thought I could put up the electric flexnet on that line and install a woven wire along the other fences. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Karen
We have not done snake fencing. Unsure if you could get fencing to work due to small diameter of snakes and the arid soil conditions (grounding problems). Would recommend checking with local agencies who are more experienced dealing with snake issues.

Thanks
Scott

The best thing we have found to keep the snakes away has been birds, ie guines hens,
peacocks, turkeys and even chickens. We just allow them to free range during the day.
The down side is coyote and fox like the birds too. We also take a shovel when we go into some areas. Good luck and be safe. V-

Actually there is a commercial fencing product that serves your stated needs very well. If you Google
