Yes, you can cut the fence in half. All of the strands will still be connected at the original ends. It's best if you can connect the 2 fences at the original ends where there is a 'tail' with a metal tab at the ends. You'll also want to connect the energizer to 1 of those tags as well. If the distance between the 2 tabs will be less than 4', you can use one of the PowerLinks- insulated wire with alligator clips at each end. If the distance will be longer than that, then you'll need to use the Insulated Maxishock Cable. You cut the cable to length, strip the coating off of each end and then wrap it around the metal tabs to make your electrical connection. Make sure you order an extra posts for the corners and ends and 1 extra for the new 'gap' that you'll create when you touch the fence.
