I wrecked two new nipples trying to put holes in them for the lambs. I wish they would come with pre-cut holes or instructions to make the holes ourselves.

Overall, this machine is something you can't be without if you have any significant number of bum lambs. It is the best investment I have made in our lambing operation of 400 head of sheep. However, like most products that cost a lot, there is always something done cheaply that you can't believe. In my opinion, the male hose attachment in back that is plastic should be brass. Plastic can be easily cross threaded and if you cross thread plastic even a little, you've got ruined threads. For a $2000 machine, I would expect better. Also, they give you no more hose than what you can get by with as if it costs a bundle for them to give you any extra. One last criticism of a machine that I won't be without, the nipples are pathetic. I hope there are other nipple options I can come up with for lambs that are older. I can see the soft nipples on the starting lambs, but there needs to be other nipple options for older lambs. Last night I put new nipples on and this morning they needed replacing already. It's going to be a money pit if I can't get any other nipples that will do better. Now, here is something I don't get. The directions say to calibrate the machine every day after cleaning. Well, if the auger puts in the same amount of replacer no matter what, then the water is all you control. I put a mark on the plexi window and as long as the level hits that mark after it mixes, what's with the need to calibrate every day after the initial calibration? There must be something behind their reasoning here that I do not get but I'm not going to go through a calibration every day if that mark I put on the window is hit when it fills. Anyone care to explain what that's all about?

The machine works fine, however, the original nipples along with the replacement nipples are very poor quality. The nipples don't last much longer than a week. I'm constantly putting new ones on.
