BlitzLight™
Product Details
Visual reassurance that the fence is working. Operates similar to a fence tester—with a ground probe and fence clip.
- Easy to use.
- Flash is visible up to 500 ft at night when the fence is "on" and if located where there is no other light.
- Hangs on an existing permanent fence. Metal clamp ensures positive fence contact.
- No battery needed. Gets its power from the pulse itself (which is why it requires a 0.5 joule or larger energizer).
Instructions/Diagrams:

Product does not work as promoted by Premeir! We have a .5 joule energizer and 3000 to 6000 volts in the netting. There are no weeds or grass in the netting. The light flashes once in a while (every few hours) and sometimes flashes 3 times in an hour. It is suppose to flash with each 3000 volt pulse. Save your money-do not buy this product. Instead of giving you reassurance that the fence is working it makes you doubt as there few or no flashes.

Product works well. One suggested improvement would be the electrical ring terminal that come crimped on the wires of the BlitzLight. The ring terminals are light-duty brass plated material and will probably not last many years (or months). A heavier duty tin plated copper ring terminal would be better suited for this application.

Easy installation, good visibility at dusk and night time, not too bright to annoy the neighbors.
After two weeks of use, there is some condensation inside the clear cover that protects the electronics.

Sadly this is our first disappointment with Premier recommended products and their customer service. We purchased this item to save us from checking our poultry fence's output each day and getting a good little shock. However, though we used product as directed, it never lit up. We were still shocked, and the dogs yelped in pain and yet no blitz light to help. I contacted Premier and was told I needed to determine the voltage coming off the fence and to do that I could by another meter from them. Frankly that seemed ridiculous... but perhaps this just reveals my ignorance. Regardless, I was told I could return it at my expense and they would take money off for a restocking fee. What a let down! I will no longer blindly trust whatever they carry or expect that the satisfied customer is their highest priority.
We noted in our description that the Blitzlight requires an energizer that has a pulse with a peak energy output of 0.5 joules to work. The reason for this? The light itself is a small energy drain from every pulse (that is what creates the spark). If there is too little energy present in the pulse the light won’t occur. So if your energizer is only 0.5 joules - and the green weed contact is enough to drain away 0.2 joules the result is only 0.3 joules in the pulse. So the light won’t be bright enough to be visible even at night.
A fence volt meter or 5 light tester, on the other hand, doesn’t drain energy from fence because they are not constantly connected to the fence.
Conclusion: we need to add more warnings in the description that it is only suitable for use with larger (1.0 joules perhaps) fence energizers — as light and not as a voltmeter.

Works great. I have it about 300ft from the house and I can see it. No batteries, excellent product
