No more chopping ice out of the bucket every morning! This is seriously one of the best items I have ever purchased for my sheep. I put it in the bottom of a 5-gallon rubber pail, plugged it into a ThermoCube, and it works great.

Works great! Love the low watts and that it turns off and on based on temp, rather than using extra power and being on all the time. We've bought these before and they work great other than the one the steers chewed... We use these most in 50 gallon tanks for sheep.

I have had problems with these heaters breaking down and tripping the GFI breaker in the past after about 12-18 months. These new ones show an indication of more sealant (I added more sealant also)so hopefully that is improving. In my last order had 1 unit that the thermostat stopped working after 1 season. The problem is, and remains, that there are not many choices on the market, so I continue to have to use them in my fountains.

Tried a couple earlier this year and now am replacing the old standard floating metal cage types with these. Easy to use, durable, does a good job of heating the water, does not have metal ring to trap pieces of hay. Can't report on longevity yet.
