Unlike other wormers, Cydectin does not affect the dung beetle life cycle. Dung beetles break down manure pats. The breakdown prevents smothering of the grass and eliminates the non-grazed area next to the pat. Dung beetles are a benefit to your pasture and Cydectin significantly less toxic to dung beetles than other popular wormers.
Specs
Cydectin oral drench for sheep is a ready-to-use solution containing 0.1% moxidectin. Moxidectin is an endectocide in the milbemycin chemical class which shares the distinctive mode of action characteristic of macrocyclic lactones. Moxidectin acts by interfering with chloride channel-medicated neurotransmission in the parasite. This results in paralysis and elimination of the parasite.

Drench was delivered promptly and in good shape. Never any problems. I’ve only used this product for a year and it seems to be working well.

Small commercial flock. We spot check. Seems if the parasite are lighter it does good. I’ve had to go back and retreat some with Ivermectin to knock it out of the flock. When we used just Ivermectin never had to retreat in a couple of weeks. I’d recommend just on the fact that it treats them decent and doesn’t kill off the dung beetle which is a big deal for rotational grazers.

We needed this medication urgently as our attempts for our animal needed next step care. Knowing SpeeDee delivers to us in the midwest we chose them. We experienced long delivery delays WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO TRACK our package daily.
Our animal died the day before our medication arrived.
Recommend product but not delivery service.

I always use a 3 med treatment on my sheep: Valbazen, Cydectin, and Ivermectin. I usually worm the flock about every 4 months, unless one or two becomes symptomatic with disease, then everybody gets it. The bottle jaw is gone in 2 days, in a week they can pass a FAMACHA test, they graze less becoming full much more quickly, and gain weight. Most ag stores are spotty at best in having these in stock for the quantity I use, better just to buy online and it's on my doorstep in 3 days. I can then plan a whole day to worming the flock. Premier has become premier for me.
