Active Ingredients
- Decoquinate 6% (27.2 g/lb)
Ingredients: Corn meal, soybean oil, lecithin and silicon dioxide.
How to Use
Mix a minimum of 1 lb of Deccox® into 1 ton of feed which provides 13.6 mg of Deccox per pound of feed. Animals eating 3.3% of their bodyweight in daily intakes of the ration will consume the correct dosage of 0.5 mg per kilogram of bodyweight. If also offering hay separately to the lambs, this will reduce intakes of the ration and appropriate increases in Deccox concentration are needed to insure adequate intake of Deccox.
Store below 77°, excursions permitted to 99° F and keep bag tightly sealed.
Shepherd’s Choice™ Management Tip
Adding Deccox to trace mineral salt mix is a means of treating pasture lambs. However, the dosage is tricky. Ewes need 0.5 mg per kilogram of bodyweight. (E.g. If ewes are 154 pounds, or 70 kg, they need 35 mg per day.) In a 55 pound mix of Sheep Trace Mineral Premix with salt, add 5 pounds of 6% Deccox®.* Lambs may not eat enough to be treated. One can double the inclusion rate as Deccox is quite safe.Precautions
Must be mixed with feed ingredients before feeding. Do not use in feeds containing bentonite. Mixing and conveying equipment should be properly grounded.
Read all warnings and cautions on label. Not for human use.

So thankful for this product. I believe my horse was having some effects from EPM. After being on Deccox for two weeks. He is clearly happier, brighter, and back to his old self. I was really getting worried about him. I’ve already had to put one horse down due to EPM. I live in the woods. There’s no way around having oppossums around. This product gives me peace of mind. I’m going to continue to use this product for my horse once per year. I started it a month early because I was worried about him.

I just received my third 2# bag of Deccox that I have been administering to my 26 yr old gelding. After seeing great results within a couple of weeks of feeding it, I’m a believer. He still runs barrels, but before there were issues…shooting up the fence at the first or turning in front of it. His top line came back and he started winning again. He will be receiving Deccox for the remainder of his life, even when he stops running barrels, which evidently isn’t anytime soon!

Dogs are infected with American Canine Hepatozoonosis by ingesting an infected tick rather than through transmission by a tick bite. Gulf Coast ticks are the most common carriers of hepatozoonsis. Symptoms are fever, muscle pain, mild to moderate anemia, runny, eyes and reduced appetite.
Our large Rhodesian came down with this last year and was extremely ill. OSU prescribed the Deccox in pill form which we’ve used at considerable expense successfully. The 2# Deccox offered by Premier is an affordable option that is delivered quickly and certainly appears to be working for us. A little less convenient to dose than the pills but considering the pills were costing us $156/month, a great alternative.

My Dachshund Maltese mix was diagnosed with this condition so my vet prescribed Deccox 1/4 tsp twice a day. Thank goodness it works! This is a rare condition that was very hard to diagnose. I definitely recommend this product.

Premier 1 recognized the 50 lb. bag of Deccox 6% available through Premier 1, as well as other suppliers, is often times too big for smaller animal operations. I needed less than 1 lb. to treat one specific animal but found the 50 lb. bag was way over my budget. Premier 1 made a 2 lb. bag available which was much less costly — perfect!
Thank you for satisfying the needs of a smaller operation. The Deccox 6% is onboard as I write this and it’s doing the job. My camel is recovering very nicely.
