Specs
- Length: 40"
- Adjustable width: 16" maximum and 10" minimum
- Bottom "legs": 14"
- Galvanized steel pipe with elastic webbing
- Included support rope for large/heavy sheep, which prevents elastic webbing from over-stretching
- Can be folded flat for easy storage and transporting with some disassembly
Benefits
1) Elastic webbing
- A thick weave of elastic shock cord has replaced the string net we used previously. The elastic web springs back into place when the ewe leaves the chair reducing the risk of entanglement. The webbing quickly hooks over built-in rivets for easy replacement. Included support rope can be used for heavy animals to prevent over-stretching.
2) Kick-plate
- This simple device prevents the animal’s hind legs from getting caught in the mesh. On occasion we’ve had to chase down a ewe that’s made off with our deck chair because of this very reason—not often, but it has happened.
3) Quickly make size adjustments
- When using our original chair, a wrench was needed to make side-to-side adjustments. These nuts have been replaced with finger-friendly wing bolts. Kick-plate adjusts via the same method.
How to Use
- Best location is in the corner of a small pen, as this allows catching the animal with the least effort. Drop the top of the chair over the gate or fence at a 45 degree angle.
- Catch the sheep by the head. Back the sheep into the chair. As the back legs hit the bottom crossbar, the rump (and most of the animal's weight) will fall into the webbing. Take care not to catch the rear legs in the 2 vertical chair legs.
- Complete the process by lifting the head upwards into the sitting position.
Precautions
Does not work well with horned animals. Their horns may become entangled with the webbing.
Note: Deck Chair Replacement Webbing (#807515) DOES NOT fit our Old Deck Chair (#807500).

This thing is awesome! If I could give 6 stars, I would. I finally got to use it with our 5 Royal White (they are big!) and 1 Jacob sheep. It still took some effort with two of use to get the sheep backed up and flipped into the hammock, but once in they were easy to control. One of them was turned sideways just a little and managed to get her hind leg under the side bar, but it was easy to get it back out again. Be sure to get the sheep settled into the cradle as straight as possible and not turned to one side or the other. Once we remembered the instructions, getting the sheep back out was really easy and done by one person by tipping the chair itself towards the front and the sheep just sort of rolled out and walked away. Really a breeze to do hoof trimming and vaccinations with this thing. If you own sheep, this is a must have.

Easy replacement and makes the chair a bit more easier to use by prohibiting the sheep to sink too deep. As always, Premier 1 ships quickly and includes the necessary instructions for what ever product I purchase.

Use this product for helping trim my ewes feet. Use this with Premier 1's lawn chair. Makes it much easier to trim feet.

This product was easy to install, but one of the holes was a 1/4" off. The pole was drilled at 7-3/4" apart and the other pole was 8" apart. These holes were to install the bolts for the acrylic foot panel. I had to re-drill the holes in the acrylic. The rest of the installation was VERY straightforward!
This chair is NOT recommended for rams or goats. The ewes have no problem in the chair, while the goats and the rams fight to get out.
This helped trimming their hooves tremendously!! Do have a second person to help as well as to comfort the animal while the hooves are trimmed. They are definitely anxious in this chair.

We have been setting our sheep down on their butts to trim hooves even though we have a tilt table. The table works great but the stress on the sheep isn't worth the convenience to us. The deck chair works great as expected and was delivered earlier than promised.
