When I first received this thermometer it read Celsius which seemed weird since it says Fahrenheit all over the box. With no instructions inside I did eventually figure out that holding down the power button can toggle between C and F and apparently a poor battery connection can cause it to switch. As soon as I turned it on it also said Lo which I took to mean low battery, so I ordered more batteries—it STILL says Lo when I turn it on and but now it sometimes gives me a reading and if it’s above 103°F it says HI … I don’t know if it’s programmed to try and classify what is a fever or too low of a temperature, but I just want a number reading and I’ve gone through so many hoops with this dang thing and still can’t get it to consistently give me a temperature. It’s infuriating.

Always losing mine. So I bought several at this good price. Easy to read with a quick reading.

Easy to read. Fast. Love the beep when the temperature is ready to read.

I bought this in the fall of 2010 and first used it on a sick ewe this week. The battery cover leaked when I washed the thermometer. It now no longer works. It in NOT waterproof as the box claims.

This thermometer works great for large and small animals alike. I was disapointed that when I received it, the batteries were extremely low and I was only able to take 4-5 readings before it died.
