Drive Caps for SmoothCote™ FiberRod
Use a drive caps to protect the top of the FiberRod from splintering when driving them in the ground.
Drive caps are compatible with these posts:
One drive cap lasts through years of uses and many posts. We recommend approximately one cap for every 20 posts ordered.
Specs
- 2" long
- Nylon plastic
- 20 per package, but sold individually
Installation
- Place the drive cap on top of FiberRod
- Drive into the ground with a rubber mallet or steel hammer
- Take the drive cap off of the FiberRod and continue with additional posts
Precautions
We do not recommend leaving drive caps on the top of posts.

Work great for driving my 1/2 inch fiberglass rods into the glacial til in my backyard. Takes hard blows with no problems using a hardened shot hammer.

Yes, this cap does really protect the tops of the fiberglass fence posts. You shouldn’t mistreat the tops of the post by pounding directly on them. I have had them stick on the post, but small thing compared to injuring the post permanently.
