Foldable Tripod Seat
Foldable tripod seat combines style and convenience. Very stable cowhide seat and convenient leather carry strap.
Solid beechwood legs are slightly scorched with a satin finish. Each leg is finished with a chrome steel ground spike. 330 lb capacity and seat height is 30" when unfolded. Spikes go 2" into the ground, so in use height will be 28".
As each seat is handmade with natural materials, subtle variations will occur. Excellent German craftsmanship.

The Craftsman
In 1868, in the small community of Lindewerra, Germany, an unassuming man named Johannes began producing walking sticks as supplemental income. It was his son, Louis, who took production to a new level—by developing new styles, tools and techniques.
During the volatile post-WWII years, the business was moved from Lindewerra (in East Germany) across the border to Bad Sooden-Allendorf (West Germany). By the 1970s, over 600,000 sticks were produced annually. As production and facilities grew, the business expanded into orthopedic walking aids.
Today, the same family now employs over 40 craftsmen in two production facilities. Their focus remains on classic walking sticks, natural canes and hunting sticks. Alloy and carbon poles have also been added to their product offering. Although they are outfitted with modern and efficient equipment, many of wooden sticks are crafted the same way they were in 1868—by careful hands, vintage tools, and unparalleled skill.

My 45 year old tripod stool was stolen last year. This is a fantastic substitute. It is extremely well built and the saddle leather is a really nice touch. The spikes will hold it into the soil. Even the finish on the legs is very nice. I took it to several horse and carriage driving shows, and it got more looks and questions than the riders. I am 5'5" and I can sit on it pretty comfortably. But you MUST put one of the pointed ends between your legs otherwise you will not be able to sit on it. I had no trouble. But ladies if you want to wear a dress and sit on this you should practice that at home and work out how it will work!! But with pants, no trouble.

Fine craftsmanship, solid and unique. This is a wonderful stool which I use for bird watching in one of my back fields. Easy to carry, comfortable to sit on.

I would only recommend this to a very tall friend. It is like sitting on a bar stool. I wanted something I could take along when tending sheep in the high desert so that I could perch from time to time while the sheep were grazing. It is a little heavy but I could manage that if it were not so tall. It is beautiful but not very practical for a short woman.

Very well made and sturdy. Tall, I am 5'2" my toes barely touch the ground. Makes an excellent Woodland wildlife photography seat.
