Heating Plates for Chick Brooders

We bought smallest size (up to 15 chicks). Easy to adjust, safe, chicks love it. Small clear plastic cover is sold separately (to keep chicks from jumping on top). I used shower cap instead.

My chicks are doing great with this heater. And can get used to dark at night unlike with a lamp. Fully adjustable, and heats up great! Wish I had bought the shield for the top as they are already pooping on it. But that’s ok.

The chicks really prefer this over the heat lamp. I'm glad I went for the size (small) instead of the extra small even though we only have 8 chicks.

This is the third brooder plate I have bought from Premier. I love these things. They work great. When I brood cornish rock crosses with the brooder plate, I lose way less birds as the chicks can't crush each other by piling up. I often use these brooder plates out side in chicken tractors in March. Had a windstorm blow away an empty chicken tractor I was storing my brooder plates in. Broke a couple of the legs off of them but the legs are very easy to replace. They are as good as new.

Purchased three of these so far, for my chicks and ducklings. The chicks and ducklings seem very happy to nestle underneath the plate, which keeps them happy and warm while saving electricity. Definitely keep an eye on the height of the plate and adjust frequently as they grow quickly!
