Lamb & Kid Sling
Premier's extra-tough option to carry or weigh lambs or goat kids.
Key advantage is that the ewe or doe can see, hear and most importantly smell them and more readily follows. This is vital for preserving the mother/offspring bond. Less human smell on newborns reduces risk of abandoned lamb(s) and goat kid(s).
Attach a Digital Scale for weighing.

I have 3 of these slings because my ewes average 2+ lambs each. It is much easier to move all the lambs simultaneously so the ewe follows, and one hand holds all the slings so I can still open gates. A frisky newborn can work their way out of the sling, so sometimes I have to hang each sling on a gate corner, etc. as it goes into the sling so I can get the next lamb. I have a vision problem, and sometimes getting the chest strap to velcro correctly in low light is a challenge.

Very easy to use and quite durable. It holds newborns perfectly. We purchased this along with the pocket weigher scale. They work perfectly together. I wouldn't want to be without it. Used both to weigh all 25 of our newborn lambs and also a couple that didn't make it(to see how much they weighed).

This very inexpensive lamb sling was one of the best investments I have made for the lambing barn recently!!! The chest strap holds lambs in very comfortably and securely. I really like being able to carry them in an upright position rather than dragging them or hanging them upside down to carry them. The ewes even seem to follow better with the lambs in the sling than when they are dragging and the lamb is better about "talking" to mom while in this more comfortable position! It is easy to wash and very durable! I love this sling and would recommend it to anyone that will be carrying lambs!

This is a great little sling for baby lambs. It's better than just a "straight" sling... this one has the velcro chest strap to keep the lamb from falling out on his head! (or I guess you could use it on the hindquarters too, depending on how you balance the lamb in it.) Great for weighing them using a hanging scale, or toting them in from the field or paddock. Easy to wash!
