I have Shetland sheep, so full-size shears for trimming out dags/crutching are really hard to work with. These are the perfect size for fleecy Shetland bums. They are sharp and they snip straight through wool no problem. These are also great for trimming around my ram’s horns in those spots that are impossible to get electric clippers into.
I bought a cheap pair on Amazon that did not come in sharp and made three small snips in wool before they were too dull to cut wool again. Do not throw away money on cheap shears, buy these and be done with it.

When we did not get our shearing done in a timely matter this year, we knew we needed something to get the wool away from the udder so the babes could drink. This shear has been perfect for that situation. It's small enough to maneuver in a rather tight place but large enough for a shepherd's hand to use comfortably.

Recommend for small trimming but not for any big jobs. Product arrived sharp and ready to use.

I love these 'mini' hand sheers. They fit my smallish hand very comfortably and get the job done. I use them on my Shetlands!

When our shearing day was cancelled due to COVID, my sheep and I were on our own — particularly so since my usual helpers are also unavailable. Given the circumstances I decided the mini hand shears were the safest way to start. It was a good choice. Once I got the knack of it, they are fairly easy to use. My Shetlands don't mind them. In fact some line up and vie with each other for their turns.
