SagStopper™ for Electric Netting
Product Details
New! Lightweight fiberglass supports with slotted ends. Use many (or only a few) to prop up loose netting.
For most, sagging net is a cosmetic problem, not a functional one. At worst, excessive sagging may reduce the “shock” effect when lower electrified strands make contact with the ground. SagStopper™ solves both problems.
Benefits:
- Easy to install/remove
- Slotted nocks on either end tension the net vertically; for best results, weave the support into the net’s mesh
- Reduces the effect of lower strands coming in contact with grass, helping to maintain adequate voltage
Specs
- 47.25" length, 7mm (0.28") diameter
- Fiberglass with polyester surface veil (protects skin!)
Installation
- Select a location midway between line posts.
- Insert the top horizontal strand into one nock of the SagStopper.
- Weave the support between the horizontal strands of the netting. This helps to improve stability in the wind.
- Insert the other nock into the lower horizontal net strand.

We find SagStoppers provide the most benefit on “standard” nets—those with 10' to 12' between line posts. Be aware, each support will add to the overall weight of the fence. For those moving fences often, it may quickly turn into a two person job. Those leaving their fences in place for a longer duration will benefit the most.

I’m only a few months in and newly introduced to the PoultryNet Plus and SolarStop 80. I’m only running 50 ft of netting for my small backyard flock but predator control is absolutely paramount in my little neighborhood. It’s an odd night if I don’t have 6 sets of raccoon eyes peering in my bedroom patio doors. Add the same for possum and skunks. I even have video of a red fox and bobcat walking the backyard fence at night that acts as a freeway for all these critters and here I am, building a chicken coop right in the belly of the beasts!
These SagStoppers are absolutely perfect to maintain a nice, tight barrier around my coop and run. Without them, the sag isn’t extreme, but when your trying to cover ALL the potential penetration points to protect the flock, those minimal sags between the main posts have always appeared to me as a potential invitation for any agile and hungry beast. SagStoppers really clean up the rigidity of the fence run and also work wonders on the 8 ft gate I incorporated into my setup. I have many fence directional changes for my custom run which can create some support deficiencies. In normal spans, I’m able to run 2 SagStoppers between the main supports. The rest help back up the spans coming off of the FiberTuff posts I added to my system to redirect netting.
Bottom line, these things are very well made and perfectly rigid with positive attachment tips for the top and bottom run of line. I’m super happy that I stumbled on to these when I came back to buy a few more FiberTuffs. I got so excited about them that I forgot to order the extra FiberTuffs I wanted and just got the 15 SagStoppers! Oh well…guess I’ll roll with what I have for now!

I heard snapping along my net fence around my free-range area for the chicens and ducks. Trimming weeds did not help. The fence was sagging beteween the posts. These sag stoppers did the trick. I walked the fence line, dropping a sag stopper at each snap. I ordered more as the snapping continued.

I’ve had my fence for a few years and it was hard to keep it from sagging. These poles did the trick! Very happy with my purchase.
