NOT FOR ADULT CHICKENS OR YOUNG FOWL. This rating is not reflective of the Saturn 3 feeder but rather of the feeder claims. Both the write up and pdf comparison chart indicate that this feeder can feed between 12-20 chickens (including adults). I was skeptical when I saw that the feeder height was 7" but ordered anyway. Turns out my suspicion was correct as both feeder capacity and individual feeder slots are way too small especially for my young geese. Furthermore, the sticker that comes on the feeder itself (which should be shown as an image in the advertising) does not even show that it is intended for adult chickens or geese but rather much smaller birds (would include a pic of my own but this review field does not allow for that). NONETHELESS, I called Premier 1 sales/customer service and Gordon was AMAZING! He understood my concern and took care of the exchange like a champ (upgraded to Saturn 5), 15lb. I would give customer service 5 starts if they had a separate customer service rating area. I see Jeremiah's review about the food not filtering down but figured I'll give it a try nonetheless and will keep you posted.

I bought the 3lb feeders for my quail. I had high hopes for them, they look well made and go together well. Sadly they don't feed worth a darn, i've tried 3 kinds of feed and once the birds eat what is in the tray they run out if you don't go out and shake the feeder. Defeats the purpose of a bulk feeder.

We have used the 15 pound feeder for 2 weeks now and plan to purchase two more. We were dealing with feed waste and this feeder has basically eliminated any waste that we can tell. The feeder is hanging over straw in the coop therefore, we may not see any feed that is spilled. I will add that it took a little while for the chicken to be accustomed to the feeder but they are doing well now. People may criticize the cost of this feeder but the amount of feed we were wasting has cut our feed cost over 70%! So, the feeder is worth the cost to us. Good luck.

This is a great product. Not one pellet is wasted and the food is kept clean.

I have the 15 lb capacity and I don't like it as the food does not sift down easily and its harder to fill due to the center hanging hook. It does keep the food from spilling out but for the extra cost I would go with something cheaper.
