SnapOn Harp Clip
Product Details
Reliable, easy-to-use plastic clips secure low-tension electric fence conductors to fiberglass posts. The “harp” design lets conductors slip easily into the loop but keeps them from working free.
- Fits 3/8" dia. fiberglass posts or Step-In FiberRods
- Holds polyrope, twine, braid or narrow tape without slipping
- UV-treated plastic resists cracking and deformation
- Ideal for multistrand fences in pasture subdivisions, rotational grazing or temporary enclosures
To minimize hand strain, use a SnapOn Harp Clip Tool for faster installation.
Specs
- Fits 3/8" dia. fiberglass posts or Step-In FiberRods
- Durable, UV-treated plastic
- 25 clips per package, but sold individually
Installation
- Position the clip at an angle with the two open ends of the clip against the post.
- Using your thumb and finger, push and twist simultaneously. This spreads the clip’s jaws and allows them to snap securely onto the post.
- Slide the harp clip up or down to the desired height. (It’s a tight fit!)
- Thread the electric fence conductor through the clip.
Tips
The clip can be repositioned by hand, but it takes some effort. Plan ahead and snap the insulator onto the post near your desired height. Make sure the harp points upward on the post.
Use the SnapOn Harp Clip Tool to speed installation and ease hand strain.

Once I figured out how to snap the first one onto the post, the rest went on easily. It was easier to snap them on by hand than by using the snap-on tool. They can be repositioned with a little effort, but seem to firmly hold the new position. My only complaint is that they don't hold the bottom non-conducting strand of a web fence as close to the ground as I would like.

These clips are great!! Better than anything I've used before and they just won't break, which I can't say for the ones that come attached to the fiberglass posts that I've purchased locally in the past. They are a little tricky to put on at first but once I learned to to position them with my fingers and then give a little twist, they snap right on. My wife and daughter were able to put them on, no problem, once they learned the motion. They are a little difficult to reposition but I don't mind that because I don't want my conductor slipping up and down. I reposition them for 2 or 3 strands occasionally without a problem. Highly recommended!!

I almost did not buy these after reading Tom's review on how hard they are to put on. So I only ordered a few to begin with, and an installation tool. I do not use the tool. They seem to have the right firmness when putting on the post and sliding, although I try to put at the desired height to begin with. I have not tried to remove one, looks like it would be difficult. Twine will come out with a lot of upward pressure. In this case I used 2, one upside down.

I love the harp clips! They are small and clean, easy to install, and inexpensive. Because they are dynamic, I can slide them up and down the 3/8" fiberglass posts whenever adjustments to my intellitwine becomes necessary. I've used a ton of them and will continue to use them for all my strand fence needs. Great product!

I have been using Premier’s products for years and loved all of them. Thank you! And a big thank you for such an informative catalog! But these harp clips are the only thing I have ever gotten that made me curse…a lot!
I appreciate that you came up with something in between the wire clips and screw type (both of which I use), but these harp clips are really difficult to put on (we bent 2 tools within minutes) and they are very difficult to reposition once on the post. They do seem to hold the twine very securely, and so if I was going to build a long term semi-perm fence it would be okay, but it’s not worth the time for a fence that is only going to stay up 6 months. Luckily, we didn’t order too many, because we definitely are going back to the screw-type and wire clips.
