How to Use
This adapter fits over a wide size-range of T-Posts (there is not a standard T-Post size). Fit will be tight or loose depending on the individual posts.
- If the mount has a loose-fit, use a hose clamp to tight the base of the clamp against the post.
- Or, drill a 3/8" hole into the base of the mount where it rests against the flat side of the post. Thread a nut onto a bolt and insert into the hole from the outside. Using a second nut, secure the bolt to the mount. Place mount onto T-Post and adjust the nuts and bolt to provide tension against the post.

Not functional without significant modification. If you buy this, know you are getting only the interface that fits your energizer and you will have to rig up some way of attaching the poor fitting “adapter” to the T-post.

Lack of clear directions for how to attach this to the ground mount or a T-post. The fit was so loose that the wind blew my energizer to the ground and damaged it. Had it operating for about 2 days when the wind picked up. $5 part leads to a $285 re-purchase. The adapter needs a much tighter fit, a better attachment, and/or clear directions for how to make this work.

I was all set to buy this clever adapter until I read reviews. My Premier 1 solar charger is a big inve$tment. Up off the ground is a great idea. During my research on best solar chargers, I think I read where IntelliShock designed in Germany. Perhaps they have a different standard metal post in that country this was designed for??? If so, I would like to think they are smart enough to make an adapter based on USA t-post design for the market here.

Pretty terrible overall. The product is a perfect fit into the intellishock mounting channel. Unfortunately it is an extremely poor fit for T-posts AND Premier 1’s ground rod. For those wondering, I found the fit to be WORSE on the ground rod. The fencer can rock so far forward and back on the ground rod that there’s a danger of it falling completely off. Also keep in mind that the ground rod had no barbs of stability plates to keep it from rotating if your ground is soft.
I did find an acceptable fix to make mine usable on a T-post. I took a plastic shim (available at the hardware store, used for installing doors and windows), broke it in half, and utilizing the thicker half shoved it inside the mount after the mount was on the T-post. It appears to be absolutely the perfect size for this and holds itself in place. I added a zip tie around the bottom of the mount for some added security though it doesn’t appear this is required.
From a design standpoint this product is amongst the worst I’ve ever seen and I’ve had significantly cheaper fencers provide far better mounts. Premier 1 could have easily added a second piece for a few pennies to make this workable (or even better, designed it correctly). Given the quality of the Premier 1’s products, it’s quite disappointing that they don’t have a decent T-post adapter available.

As a T-post adapter it is VERY loose until I tried it on a T-post with a plastic sleeve on the top and it fits snuggle then. I would not trust it to stay on without the sleeve and a bolt or clamp of some kind. Maybe I’m missing something but it’s just too loose on a plain T-post. No instruction came with it so I’m guessing if you drill a hole through the post and put some kind of pin or bolt in it it would slide on the grooves. But as a previous post suggests if you assume something you make a ___ out of you and me. Just give good instructions with the product is all that’s needed. The wind will blow your very expensive energizer off the post if you don’t secure it somehow…
