This is an amazing waterer! We’ve had it a couple of weeks and it is the best one we have used so far! It is sturdy and very well made. I’m not sure about mildew or anything like it. But we’ve felt with that with all our waterers except for our metal ones. It has been a good buy!

This is easy to fill if you have a hose or a wide mouthed funnel. The chickens took to it instantly. The dish does get dirty so you have to swip it out clean every day. The only frustrating element to it is the valve where the water comes out should be a hair lower. If the entire setup isn't PERFECTLY level, water runs out the side at a slow trickle. The instructions do state that it has to be level, but even once I do get it level, if the chickens scratch at the ground around it a little, it's immediately off. Just a tad too sensitive. Should have a little room for error if you ask me since most chicken yards I've seen are perfect. Plan to put a bead of silicone around the dish to try to solve the issue.

We've been using this for about a week & so far, so good.
I didn't have any trouble regulating the water flow, as some have complained of, only needing to adjust it a couple of times immediately upon set-up.
I will say this, though - the legs on this are really lacking. They do not attach to the unit but rather, they depend on the weight of the water to keep them in place. I'm thinking about using Gorilla Glue to attach them, haven't decided yet.
As stated in directions & other reviews, you must have the unit level for it to function correctly. Common sense, really, and easily accomplished. We just eyeballed it, no problems.
I do flush it every so often to rid it of grit & debris that finds it's way in, which is to be expected.
Overall, a handy product that keeps the hens' water clear of poop.

Works great! Water tray at height stays cleaner longer. Less frequent fill intervals with large tank. Simple to fill. We love it!!!
