Shepherd’s Choice® Management Tip
Producers should NOT tube lambs that cannot hold their heads upright. In most cases these are hypothermic lambs. They need glucose (IP) and warming first. Once the animal has been revived and can hold its head up, then you can use the various stomach tube devices to deliver nourishment.Precautions

Great service speed. Tags were exactly what I ordered.

I really like the Trusti Tuber. I find it easier to use than trying to push a big syringe and keep the tube in place when having to tube a lamb by myself. I did find though if the tube is too far into the stomach the milk doesn’t drain very well, just have to pull the tube out a little and the milk goes down easily. I like the lines on the tube they help make sure the tube is in far enough.

Best way to tube.

Much easier to use for one person than methods using pressure. Durable. Easy to clean with bottle brush. Like the hook on the handle as this makes it convenient to put on fence or bucket. Make certain you hold filled container below the lamb's mouth. One can forget this at times with a lamb that starts squirming. If colostrum is extra thick it can be a slow gravity feed. If air bubble in feed tube line, a blow into the container will clear this. Suggestions: make marking for minimum insertion length more prominent. The small black marks on feed tube can be detected in daylight, not so easy with flashlight. Likewise, ounce markings are hard to see. I've marked the lines with permanent marker.
