X-Tuff Single Sided Hay Feeder
Product Details
This very strong X-Tuff Feeder stands up to abuse from big sheep, horned goats and years of hard use. Everyone is impressed when they see these.
- Heavy enough to keep your large ewes from knocking it down like similar plastic feeders.
- Small openings (2-1/2" x 4-1/2") prevent sheep and goats from pulling out more than they can chew.
- Holes on bottom of hay feeder allow lambs/kids to eat.

These hay racks are worth their weight in gold! A flake or two of hay fit perfectly and the rack is so sturdy and portable - I move them inside or outside depending on weather. My alpacas nibble from both sides when I hang the rack over a fence.
Dannie W from Georgia
We bought these about two years ago with a goat herd of four. Now we’re up to nine and without hesitation, I wanted more. These are portable and just hook over any fencing. They’re sturdy and have yet for rust or show any wear. Do they waste hay? Of course, every feeder does but I do feel like it less compared to my others.
Gary V from Michigan
A lot heavier rods than I expected. Should hold up to butting goats well.
Thomas L from Oregon
Very well made hay rack, good balance in terms of weight (not too heavy) and robustness (very solid). Hangs nicely over a gate or over a 2x4 in the barn.
I am not giving 5 stars because it's not as good as keeping the hay in as I'd hoped it would be. Now it is much better than what I was previously using, but I'm feeding 3rd cutting orchard grass to a couple of lambs and I still find a lot of hay on the ground. The hay is very "short" - the flake almost falls apart when I put it in the rack, so perhaps I'm expecting too much with this kind of hay.
Overall it's a huge improvement, but there's still wastage unfortunately.
Rachel W from Good choice!
This is a good feeder. I wish it held more, but still very good. I guess the holes could be smaller, but I wouldn't take a star off for that. They are already smaller than most hay feeders out there. I don't think we're going to be replacing these as often as hay bags anymore so four, almost 5 stars (size). Definitely better than anything I can get locally or from other online retailers. I have 3 now, a 4th on the way.
