Tips
Between deep cleanings, swap only the drinking tray (an extra tray is included) for quick maintenance. Twist the brass valve a quarter turn to shut off water flow, switch trays and reopen the valve.
Use a mild detergent to scrub the tank and trays. Avoid harsh chemicals that can leave residue.
Troubleshooting
If water continues to flow (indicating air entering the tank), check the following:
- Ensure the lid is properly closed
- The pink sealing ring on the lid is missing or damaged
- The large sealing ring is missing or damaged
- The green clips are not securely fastened or are damaged
- The valve is not tightened properly

One important note from the field: Fill the waterer where it will be used. Because it operates on a vacuum system, it’s not designed to be carried when full. Moving it can allow air into the tank, which can cause leaking. Once placed and filled, however, it performed reliably and consistently throughout the season.

I have used this waterer for 2 weeks. It works great. No more cleaning algae in the water containers. I have refilled it once, so it holds enough water for my 20 chickens for at least 1 week. I clean the water dish daily to keep it clean, but that is easy to do. It is next to the water pump near the coop, so there is no need to carry it elsewhere (6 gallons would be too heavy to carry.)

I bought two, and they worked so well that I bought two more. These have been a game changer for me. They are easy to assemble, fill and clean. I highly recommend this waterer.

Great waterer thus far. We love how clean the water is kept, the solid construction, and the relatively large tank capacity. Two units last our layer flock of 150–180 birds for 24 hours, even in the summer heat.
I do wonder about the longevity of the silicone seals and whether the manufacturer sells replacements.

Great waterer! We’ve tried many of the chicken waterers out there… Every one of them seems to have a qualities we like, and some room for improvement.
Features we like: It is raised nicely off the ground; The removable drinking bowl seems to be doing a great job of keeping the poop out (although the girls always find ways to get the water dirty); The ability to take the water storage chamber apart for an occasional deep clean. It is also made well, easy enough to fill and still carry, and seems like it will last a long time. We run two waterers for 70–100 birds and they do an excellent job at keeping up, with plenty of room for multiple birds to drink at one time. The chickens definitely prefer it over the drip or cup system.
Features that could use improvement: The screw cap/carry handle threading isn’t smooth - meaning it can take a couple of tries to get it lined up correctly (wish it was a snap style lid so that you don’t have to find a place to set the cap down while filling); Like most gravity water fillers, you have to remember to turn the flow valve on/off before and after filling.
Be aware: You should shut the flow valve off before hosing out the drinking bowl… We learned the hard way that the water reserves will empty very quickly if you just want to spray the drinking bowl out with a blast from the hose. Also, we live in an area that doesn’t experience deep freezes, but the water in the bowl and valve will likely freeze.
Overall a positive experience and we would likely buy this again.

I have to say I am disappointed with this waterer while it contains about 6 gallons of water it doesn’t hold it very well. I’ve had to fill it every day and I only have 10 chickens, so I know they are not drinking it all. That means it is leaking out of the tray.
