Sprayline
The easiest and most accurate sheep spray marker that we have ever used or tested.
Common Uses
- Matching lambs and mothers.
- Identifying fat, thin, diseased or cull animals in pens and chutes.
Specs
Q: Why is this now called Sprayline instead of SuperSprayline?
A: It's the identical product in the identical cans from the identical manufacturer. However the SuperSprayline label includes the name of a British supplier (Britain is the biggest market in the world for sheep spray markers)—and their company name is the same as an agribusiness in the USA that we like and respect. So we switched to cans labeled for the New Zealand market.
Benefits
How many numbers will a can produce? In our tests, a red 400 ml can of Sprayline produced approximately 450 numbers (2" to 3" in height) on a porous surface (burlap).
Tips
- Smaller numbers are more readable for a longer time.
- Sprayline will last longer if used with a full fleece. Animals with that are haired rather than wooled will "wear" Sprayline for a shorter period of time.
Precautions
Accepted as scourable in the UK but not in the USA. (No, we cannot account for this.)

I can't speak for sheep but it does not work on goats. The lettering is worn off within 24 hours to the point you can't read it. Within a week it is completely gone. No rain or washing off. It simply does not hold up on goats.

This product worked well for what i wanted it for. The paint fades a little quicker then i prefer most of the numbers on the lambs fade out withen 2 weeks of application. The first lambs were a little tricky until i got use to the spray pattern. I may go a different route next time but only due to needing a slightly more permanent numbering system. It seems to dry fairly quickly and numbers were more than readable.
