Aluminum Tube RedCote™ Crook
Use this neck crook for grabbing animals as they are passing by or singling one out of a group.
Red outer finish means it's less likely to be "misplaced" in grass, straw, closets, etc. Also prevents uncoated aluminum from leaving black oxidate on your hands and clothes.

This is a very sturdy and well made crook and is just the right length and the opening is big enough for almost any 4 legged farm animal. I myself have Pygmy Goats and this works great on them. The handle side is comfortable and sturdy and makes holding our goats easy. Highly recommended for anyone in need of a solid crook that will get the job done.

If you are looking for a pretty crook this one won't be it after the first use. If you want a durable crook that works well for years this is definitely the crook for you. The paint comes off almost immediately followed by the rubber handle end. We tape the handle ends back on with electrical tape and they are good to go. The lack of paint I don't worry about. They are aluminum so they won't rust. As others have said they do bend easily and often, but I find that to be a plus. Instead of jarring your hand and the goat like a solid crook does when it hits something these just bend. It's so much easier on you and then you just bend it right back and it's good as new. Overall we really like them. They are an excellent working crook. They just don't stay pretty very long.

I am in love with my new RedCote Crook! I always in the past have just had to corner the ewes in a small area or use a border collie to hold them and grab a back leg by hand. It took a little bit of figuring out on how to use it but once I realized how to hold up the crook and keep it twisted I've now caught several ewes for one reason or another with ease! the only problem I had was the rubber stoppers came off and so my husband took gorilla glue and glued them on! This is already well worth the purchase wish I had made the purchase years ago!

Every shepherd or goat person should have one. Much better than the leg snare.
