Blue Leg Aluminum Crook
Specifically used for "grabbing" sheep and goats by a leg or newborn lambs/kids by the body. Depth of the hook reduces the chance of escape.
A goat's agility, slim neck and lack of wool mean that neck crooks are often useless. Leg crooks are best for goats because goats prefer to face you—so if you wish to catch them in a pen, it works best to do so by snagging a front foot.

This product does not work for the hair sheep I have. Loop at the end is too large. It will not catch and hold the animal. Meant to return it, but was too busy with life.

Perfect for the lambs (neck) and ewes (back leg). As some have said it’s a little heavy, but nothing unmanageable. It’s just made solidly. It’s my go to crook now.

We bought several of these to keep at various locations on our place so we don’t have to go far if we need to catch a lamb that’s in a pen or pasture that’s a distance from where we have the hook. They are made well & hold up to continued use. They are sturdy enough to grab a big ewe on occasion. The only thing we don’t like is the length when we are working in a close pen. We’re purchasing another one that we plan to cut down to use on lambs when we’re sorting in a small pen.
