Broiler Trough Feeders
High capacity trough-style feeders specifically designed for raising meat birds.
Broilers have two simple jobs: Eat and grow. Unrestricted access and high capacity are necessary for an all-day buffet. However, too much access may result in soiled feed from birds climbing into the feeder, or perching above the food.
Premier’s trough feeders offer two solutions:
- Feed-saving lip has a knurled edge to help prevent birds from spilling feed onto the ground
- Freely spinning carrying reel to prevent perching above the food
Use for broilers, ducks, turkeys and any type of poultry that you’re growing for the plate.
Instructions/Diagrams:
Benefits
- Feed-saving lip has a unique knurled edge to help prevent birds from pulling feed onto the ground
- Wide base slopes to a narrow feed opening (5–5.5") offers plenty of capacity while discouraging climbing
- Feeds 15–30 birds at one time (3" space per bird)
- Portable—trough feeders can be carried using full-length carrying reel which freely spins to reduce perching
- Durable construction; 304 grade stainless steel or rugged, UV-treated plastic

These trough feeders are exactly what I was looking for! We have 21 chickens and this feeds them all comfortably. They can’t stand in it and the design makes for no waste as they peck away. Worth the cost!

I like the overall design a lot but the stainless ones do not come with stainless steel screws and the ones provided blackened after being washed and had to be replaced immediately with stainless. Also, it does not have a perfect seal on the ends so if you use it for wet feed, expect there to be leakage. I would recommend adding a food-safe seal.

This trough holds a lot of feed and the handle is great. It is very sturdy. The only problem is my broiler chickens get stuck inside of it from time to time and getting them out is difficult.

I am disappointed with the plastic throughs. We have used 10 out of the 12 that we purchased and 3 of the handles have broken when full with feed. We are going to try the stainless next time we need to order more. I just could not justify the added cost, but I am definitely going to get the stainless when I order more.

We love these trough feeders! As do our meat chickens (freedom rangers). They may be a little pricey, but the plastic ones have held up well, which makes it all worth the price!
We fill them in the morning and are good until the evening when we pull feed. So it makes feeding 12 on, and 12 off, a breeze! No worrying about chickens running out of food in the middle of the day.
We originally started with just 1 trough and have now grown to 3.
