It's common for a bead of water to hang off the nipple and occasionally drip. This is common with all types of poultry nipples. When testing this waterer, the drips were not bothersome to neither our birds nor us.
Clean the drinker once a month with chlorine. This is important to keep the nipples clean. Make sure there is no chlorine left in the nipples after cleaning.

Very nicely made nipple water container. Hook and rope included comes in handy. Will be great for my birds to have clean water in warmer weather. Birds were very easily taught to drink from it by just tapping on nipple.

I have replaced all of my waterers with this one. I did drill a very small hole in the lids due to suction being made as the chickens drink water and no air getting into the bucket. Small little hole fixes the issue. Easy to clean also. I love being able to sit the bucket on a flat surface to fill.

So far my chicks do not love it but I do! I have various size of chikens so must put a rock under for the smalest ones. Easy to fill and much more pleasant for me

Simply perfect! This is how it should be made. All the pieces down to the rope to hang it up is designed very well. Just started using this outdoors under the shade of an oak tree. I will keep eye on algae growth but I am hoping due to the thicker walls and lid it should not be a major problem. I will be ordering more of these as I replace all my waterers.

I bought two of these waterers for my girls early last summer - one for inside the coop and the other for their run. These waterer are really an excellent product. They are well made, hold quite a bit of water, the water stays clean, the waterer itself is easy to clean, and it was really easy to teach my pullets to drink from it. My only complaint is that I can't use them during the winter season. Although there is a heated nipple waterer offered by Premier1, my girls haven't taken to it like they did with these waterers. I think I am going to buy a couple more to hang from some trees around the property; the hens have a fenced-in, 2-acre free-range area so they can stray pretty far from the coop where the waterers are located. I highly recommend this product!
