Product Details

High-output heater for lambing pens, chicken coops or horse stables. Not recommended for use in chick brooders.

Due to their high heat output, Carbon Fiber Heaters should be hung higher than heat lamps. This allows heat to disperse over a large area and prevents hot spots. Available in 600 or 1200 watt configurations. (Bulbs and lamps are not interchangeable.)

Built-in “kill switch” turns the unit off if an unsafe angle (30°) occurs. So if it falls or is smashed, the heater is immediately disabled. Protects your buildings, livestock, poultry and pets.

Carbon fiber bulbs have a very long life and are efficient—98% of watts become heat.

Easy to assemble. Works great in the goat barn. Just enough heat for sub zero nights.

I love the heavy structure. I feel more secure with this than heat lamps. I use it for my chickens. It keeps them warm but not overly hot, which is great should the electric go out. This week we had temperatures in the teens and no frozen water. I have a large house and it keeps the temperature in the 40s or 50s. I have happy chickens and none are huddled up like they are cold--even the older ones.

We have brutal swings in temperature and even though our barns are insulated, heating a big open space can be a fool's errand. These high-efficiency lamps are a lifesaver for people and animals. They are easy to move around and easy to adjust. I bought both sizes, and decided bigger is better but I still use both. We placed one above the workbench in the shop and love that it can keep several people comfortable instead of roasting the one closest to it. That gave us confidence to use it in the lambing barn, where it quickly replaced the long Farmtek heaters that cost four times as much. The smaller one went into the chicken coop, which is very insulated and well ventilated. Previously, the vent fan pulled the heat out of the coop. This heater keeps all 17 of the ladies happy from one end of the roost to the other, warms up the metal nesting box unit, and provides just enough supplemental light that they keep laying and the eggs don't freeze. What's not to love? Also, we just burned out our first element and I was delighted to see that for $25 I can have a replacement.

I absolutely love this lamp/heater. It warms the air extremely well. Safety features and cost are well worth it!

So far so good. No problems at all. I bought 2- 1200v lamps for horse/ chicken barns. I put them on ThermoCubes.
