Carbon Fiber Heaters
Product Details
High-output heater for lambing pens, chicken coops or horse stables. Not recommended for use in chick brooders.
Due to their high heat output, Carbon Fiber Heaters should be hung higher than heat lamps. This allows heat to disperse over a large area and prevents hot spots. Available in 600 or 1200 watt configurations. (Bulbs and lamps are not interchangeable.)
Built-in “kill switch” turns the unit off if an unsafe angle (30°) occurs. So if it falls or is smashed, the heater is immediately disabled. Protects your buildings, livestock, poultry and pets.
Carbon fiber bulbs have a very long life and are efficient—98% of watts become heat.
Instructions/Diagrams:

Tips
Precautions
- 600W heater use 600W bulb (#557302)
- 1200W heater use 1200W bulb (#557304)
When installing new bulbs, be sure to handle the bulb with a cloth or covering. This prevents oil transfer from your hands to the bulb, which reduces its usable life.
Due to the high heat output of these units, we recommend placing them higher (further away from the ground or animals) than conventional heat lamps. This will allow the heat to disperse over a larger area and prevents “hot-spots” from forming. Do NOT allow birds/animals direct access to any heater or heat lamp.
Do NOT enclose in barrels or other similar enclosed locations. They heat must be able to move away from the heating unit.
We don’t recommend using an extension cord in situations where it can be avoided. If you do, you MUST use a heavy-duty outdoor extension cord that is rated for a minimum of 10 amps (1200 watts) continuous draw.
Warning: Risk of electrical shock—Connect only to a branch circuit protected by a ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI). Contact a qualified electrician if you cannot verify that the circuit is protected by a GFCI.

I am very leary of electric heat in my coops, until I read the reviews on this one. Both of my coops are 16x12 each, but joined them together. So, it's really 16x24 with 3 four foot by three foot openings the center wall.
So I bought the 1200 watt heater for the one side and hung my two Premier 1 heat lamps on the other side (500 watts total). Plugged them into the ThermoCube (power on at 35 degrees and off at 42 degrees). I installed my outlets at about 3 feet off the floor, hung the heaters about 5 feet from the floor. Coops stays at about 40 degrees when it is 0 degrees outside, but the water dishes on the floor will slightly ice up some times. My coops are insulated. So I found "Cubes" on Ebay that come on at 32 degrees and off at 50 degrees.
I am so impressed with this heater that I ordered another one for the other side and will remove the two bulb heaters. I will update you when I have tested this out as soon as I get my new heater. Which by the way will probably be in just a couple of days, very fast shipping always from Premier 1. Stay tuned...

Love it so far. It keeps the coop around 20-25°F warmer than outside. I only use it on sub-zero days to take that super chill off. I take it down and clean it on the better days. No matter how safe people say any heat product is, chicken dander will mess up things. Keep it clean and secure and it will be the best heater.
P.S. — My coop is much larger than the 10x10 that this was designed for. I purchased this one on purpose because I didn’t want something that put off much so heat that it would be detrimental to the birds going in and out.

Ordered the 600 watt heater for a small (8x8) barn that houses our two pet goats. Our winters are generally mild but when temperatures drop below 30° or so, I wanted something to help take the extra chill off (especially at night or during snow/icy weather). This heater has done the job beautifully. I arrived packaged securely and I watched the video on how to install it — was able to assemble and hang it easily. The goats love it. I estimate it keeps the space about about 15 degrees warmer which is just right for our needs.

This is a nice heater. I have some old ewes with arthritis and every morning I find them huddled underneath it. The 600 watt cuts the chill, but does not create a lot of warmth. I have now purchased the 1200 watt to see if it produces more heat.
The customer service at Premier 1 is amazing.

A very nice heater that covers a good area. A quality product. I liked the first two and ordered more after they were up within two days.
