I have hens that have just begun to lay and they were pecking at their own eggs. Even though I improved their diet and entertainment, I was still having an issue. I bought these eggs--quick delivery, thank you!--and put them in the pen. The hens immediately started pecking but soon gave up. I have all dozen in the pen and they are used to seeing eggs laying all over now. No more egg eating. I highly recommend these eggs and also putting an "x" on them so you can tell them from the real eggs!

Looks so real you have to mark them to tell'em apart from the real ones!

Well, I did manage to break one but otherwise they work as advertised. All of the hens (except one which has her own nest site) follow the egg.

As others have said, these eggs are a little light but they were much less fragile than I thought they would be. I used a ordinary brown marker to make an "X" on the ends of them so I could tell them apart from the real eggs. They encouraged my hens to lay in the new nest boxes we have. My broody Buff Orpington hens love having another egg to lay theirs with, and my "I-must-have-another-egg-in-the-nest-in-order-to-lay-mine" Black Austalorp hen likes them too. I would reccomend trying the birchwood eggs from Premier as well.

Look and feel like the real thing. A bit lighter in color, which is fine by me since it allows me to distinguish them from the real ones. I had pullets that wouldn't use the nest boxes until I put one of these in each box. Now they are all laying in the nest boxes. I couldn't ask for more than that!
