Purchased two for our first batch of 15 chicks. We put them up on paving bricks, adding bricks as they grow, and they work perfectly! For the first few days, we put a plastic tray underneath with a paper towel since there was a bit of a mess while they learned to drink the drops (not just peck and splash). By day 3, there was no mess, their water stays clean and everybody is happy. We're moving up to a bucket watering system as they move out to the coop, but I'm sure we'll be using these again if we have broody/sick hens that need separated from the group. My only regret is that I didn't also purchase a bracket.....I didn't realize how many bricks I'd need to stack to keep up with them as they grew!

I just got 3 of these about a week ago and have been using them for my 2 week old chicks in their brooder box. WHY didn't I order these before? These are such a marvelous way to keep chick water CLEAN! Easy to fill from the top, such a wonderful invention! For now they're sitting on top of the heater panel I got from Premier 1. These waterers are exactly the right height.. I just love these! I also got the mounting brackets- both kinds- so I can use them in the grow-out coop too.. I do wish there was a larger size though that would hold more water in the grow out coop.. GET THESE for your chicks!

I already have 2 of the 3 gallon nipple waterers and live them I got 2 of these for my chicks. Just introduce a couple of hens to these by placing their beaks on the nipples a few times. Take away the old water source and the other hens will copy the Jen you taught. This is a great way to provide clean water and reduce spills.

Love this product! This is my first time raising chicks; I was concerned about keeping the water clean--this is the perfect solution. My chicks took to it right away, and it conveniently sits on their heating plate. Plus, it's easy to fill. I just wish I had ordered two of them!
